Spousal Program 2014

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014: Capitoline Hill & Campo Marzio

Meeting place: Piazza del Campidoglio (on the right side, on the top of Salita la Cordonata)

9:00 AM: Visit to the Capitoline Square for a short introduction to the place and origin of Rome

9:15 AM: Visit to Capitolini Museums and Palazzo dei Conservatori: Paintings of Cavalier D'Arpino, Bronze Female Wolf, Medusa of Bernini, Emperor Marcus Aurelius Bronze Statue, and foundations of the Juppiter Temple 509 B.C.
Visit to the Tabularium for an amazing view of the Roman Forum from the inside of the ancient roman archive.
Visit to the Palazzo Nuovo for a look at an original archaeological collection from 1734.

11:15-11.45: Visit to Ara Coeli Church.

12:00-13:30: Lunch in the Jewish district ('Ghetto').

13:30-14.30: Walk through Campo Marzio district to see the archaeological evidence of the Sacred Area of largo Argentina, the Theater of Pompeus, and Renaissance buildings.

14.30-16:00: Visit to Crypta Balbi Museum- a journey through centuries from 200 BC through to the 18th century.

Thursday, September 18th, 2014: Rome, From The Beginning To The End

Meeting place: Metro stop Circo Massimo (next to the FAO building)

9:00: Head to Circo Massimo for a short introduction to the ancient roman landscape.

9:30-10:30: Walk to the Caracalla's Baths.

10:45-12:15: Visit to Palatine Hill & the Roman Forum.

12:15-13:45: Lunch nearby.

13:45-15:00: Visit to the Colosseum.

15:00-16:00: Walk around Oppius Hill
